Bartlett High School
Bartlett, TN
When Bartlett City Schools was founded in 2013 and inherited the Bartlett High School campus, original buildings from the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, were still in regular use- including the school’s original 1917 auditorium. Faced with the growing needs of the high school with the largest enrollment in Tennessee, Fleming Architects worked closely with BCS to develop a comprehensive master plan and renovation to update the school to modern standards, address capacity, and provide a fresh identity. The renovation consists of a new 2,500 seat competition gymnasium, 700 seat cafeteria, 1,000 seat performance auditorium, and a complete transformation and unification of the building facades. A new main entry and lobby, new student commons, and new circulation systems will improve the accessibility of the school. Finally, renovations to improve and expand classroom, administrative, STEM, vocational, and athletic spaces will provide an updated learning environment.
